🥕QUICK NUTRITION GUIDE What do protein, complex carbs & good fats do? Why you need a balance...

Keto. Paleo, Low Carb, Carb Cycle, IF.. confused? There are tons of eating plans and fad diets everywhere and it’s easy to get overwhelmed and confused when it comes to what to eat.. agree?

Who do you trust? Celebs, chefs, gurus- please be careful where you take your advice from.

.

I want to share a simple and practical guide with you.

It will ensure you get good healthy foods from each food group that your mind and body needs to function well in every way.

.

First of all, a quick overview of what each healthy food group does for you:

PROTEIN

Protein plays a key role in helping to repair and strengthen muscle tissue after exercise.

It helps repair and build your body's tissues, allows metabolic reactions to take place and coordinates bodily functions.

In addition to providing your body with a structural framework, proteins also maintain proper pH and fluid balance.

COMPLEX CARBOHYDRATES

Complex carbs pack in more nutrients than simple carbs.

They're higher in fibre and digest more slowly. This also makes them more filling, which means they're a good option for weight control.

They're also ideal for people with type 2 diabetes because they help manage blood sugar spikes after meals.

Both simple and complex carbohydrates are turned to glucose (blood sugar) in the body and are used as energy. Glucose is used in the cells of the body and in the brain. Any unused glucose is stored in the liver and muscles as glycogen for use later.

HEALTHY FATS

Good fats include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, ...

That means they're required for normal body functions but your body can't make them.

Fat helps give your body energy, protects your organs, supports cell growth, keeps cholesterol and blood pressure under control, and helps your body absorb vital nutrients.

I hope that has been helpful
